Centennial Resource Development, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDEV) is currently seeking a Sr. Reserves Engineer. Reporting to the Vice-President Reservoir Engineering, the Sr. Reserves Engineer will provide corporate reserves and reservoir engineering support for a variety of projects (as detailed below). The ideal candidate will have strong technical as well as communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities

  • Interface with multidisciplinary team to generate and execute a development plan that maximizes the value of CDEV’s Delaware Basin Assets
  • Work with Corporate Reserves team to analyze and prepare quarterly reserves updates and biannual bank redeterminations in accordance with SEC, SOX, and PRMS guidelines
  • Integrate with accounting and internal audit teams to ensure accurate financial reporting as it relates to reserves
  • Utilize decline curve analysis, material balance, volumetrics, and other reserves analysis techniques to analyze proved and 3P reserves
  • Analyze the reserves and value of potential acquisitions, divestitures, and trades and integrate with multidisciplinary team to execute on A&D strategy
  • Work with Finance team to maintain long term budget plan forecast and update type curve, PDP, and expense forecasts regularly
  • Build and maintain a collaborative working relationship with Centennial’s 3rd party reserves auditor
  • Provide reservoir engineering support on other technical projects/studies
  • Mentor and coach other team members



  • BS in Engineering and 7+ years of oil and gas engineering experience with 5+ years of reservoir engineering/ corporate reserves experience
  • Extensive recent knowledge of quarterly and/or annual reserves process and SEC reserves reporting guidelines required
  • Relevant reservoir engineering experience with unconventional resource plays preferred
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of independently integrating within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in ARIES and Microsoft Office; Spotfire skills preferred
