Our Communities

Centennial is dedicated to making a positive impact to the communities in which we live and work. Employees donate their time to a wide range of charities and community organizations and activities, such as food drives, school supply drives, toy drives and other local events. In addition, in 2018 Centennial launched a charitable giving program which provides donations to charities and non-profit organizations, which serve our communities.

Building on its corporate volunteering efforts, in April 2019 Centennial celebrated its first Day of Service, providing the opportunity for all employees to give back to their communities. The Denver, Midland and Pecos offices were generous with their time, spending a weekday away from work to perform the following activities:

  • Donated food and stocked pantry items for Metro Caring
  • Assembled activity kits for nearly 2,500 students at RAFT Colorado
  • Supported Denver Parks & Recreation by planting ten trees at Hallack Park
  • Served warm meals at the Midland Soup Kitchen
  • Donated food and stocked pantry items for the Santa Rosa Food Bank

Other examples of charitable contributions and volunteer efforts made by the company and employees in 2019 include:

  • Participated in the Reeves County American Cancer Society Relay for Life, a cancer walk which helps fund and conduct research, sharing expert information, supporting patients and spreading the word about cancer prevention
  • Sponsored the Ward County Stock Show, which is supported by Texas A&M AgriLife and provides programs, tools, and resources that teach people how to improve agriculture and food production, advance health practices and enrich youth
  • Contributed to the Bill & Gail Engvall’s Pumpjack Paradise event benefiting the Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center, which provides neurological and orthopedic therapy regardless of a family’s ability to pay
  • Sponsored the West of Pecos Rodeo Scholarship, benefiting Pecos High School students and families
  • Contributed to the Wine, Women and Shoes event benefiting the Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center, whose mission is to ease and heal the emotional trauma of victims and families, guide the victim through medical and legal systems, provide support for making informed decisions and advocate for victims’ needs

Also in 2017, several of our employees’ family members were affected by Hurricane Harvey, which inflicted severe damage across parts of Texas and Louisiana. In support of the relief efforts, Centennial established a matching gift program for employees who wanted to make a personal donation to the American Red Cross. This effort raised approximately $50,000 for the American Red Cross to aid Hurricane Harvey victims.
